Howard Linett is highly qualified to write this critical work. Howard is a
member of the Jerusalem Sniper Unit and has extensive counter terrorism
experience. No one can argue that Howard is not on the sharp end of the stick
in a volatile environment.
His book is both comprehensive in scope and detail. He covers all aspects of
responding to terrorism, ranging from homicide bomber to vehicle ambushes.
Howard uses examples of actual incidents to show how mistakes were made and how
often warnings are missed or ignored. Unlike some, Howard can and does use his
own experiences to bring an introspective approach that academics or outside
observers cannot.
Howard takes a common sense approach that is devoid of broad stokes blaming
Arabs or other ethnic groups. Instead, he focuses on danger signs and places to
avoid. His arguments for being armed are based on real world experiences not an
undefined bogy man.
This is a critical book and needs to be purchased and read repeatedly by every
American. Last year at the Hoot & Shoot I warned of terrorist school attacks. I
could tell many present were skeptical, but subsequent events in Russia proved
me tragically right. I’m convinced that we will soon face attacks similar to
those occurring in Israel. Our support of this embattled country has made us a
prime target.
I feel our support of Howard’s country is both a moral and logical position. To
fail to learn from their experiences and fail to copy their tactics is not only
morally indefensible, it’s stupid. Buy this book and read it several times and
then incorporate these tactics, tools, and responses into your daily routine.
Then get your loved ones to do the same. I certainly intend to.
This is a superb book written by an exceptional human being who I’ve met and
found incredibly incisive and at the same time humble and unassuming. Buy this
book!
