Malcolm-I could probably conceal a paino and a step ladder given my ample frame .
I also found that Glock 19's have ended up in the hands and holsters of pesky children. I carry a Glock 17 daily backed up by Smith 642 with reloades for both and a light. I "sold" my P32 to our youngest daughter so she would carry two for CCW.
I waiting on a new T&E holster from Blackhawk for my Glock 30sf and will then carry it as a 2nd gun and relegate the snub to 3rd place. |

Um.... Well.... I just LOVE my Glock 19. Countless rounds thru it and nothing but reliable. It is my primary carry with my S&W 638 backing it up. Can't imagine a better combo for me. |

| Been carrying my G19 for almost 4 yrs now in a home-made IWB. Last summer added a G26 in a home-made JIT type holster. I carry a spare G19 mag. Like 'em both. Only problem with G19 was one failure to extract on Chilean 124gr mil-surp ball. Only modification to either gun was replacing the rear sight, the highest sight facilitates POA/POI. |

| I carry my Glock 19 in a off brand IWB holster, one spare mag in a fobus mag pouch, backed by a J frame and a speed strip, and sometimes a 3rd gun in a ankle holster either a Glock 27 or another J frame. |

I suspect the G19/J-Smith may the *the* most widely carried two gun combo. I know it's mine.

My girls and daughter-in-law have all "inherited" their Father's penchant for being blunt. My wife and son are the family diplomats. Daughter-in-law has poached the Glock 26 from my grasp.(like we didn't see that one coming a mileoff) However, my bride of 33 almost years, said a few days ago,"Honey, why don't you just get some more Glocks and leave them in the safe for the grandkids? That way they won't take yours!" I think I'll have another one or two in their for ME, too. My grandchildren are younger than Evan's and can read, but they are not (yet) aware of this forum(thankfully-and they don't know DJW so he can't tip them off.) I've taken to carrying my G-19 and a 2 inch Taurus .357 that I favor as my main combination when I'm out and about, both are very comfortable and comforting to have.(reloads for both as well.)

Carried my G19 all weekend. It's strictly an off-duty weapon, the G17s being a better choice for me on duty.
Spent the weekend in Omaha on a get-away with my bride, lots of walking, varying weather conditions, and varying clothing (us guys are supposed to dress nice at times, dontchaknow?)
G19 in a Galco copy of the Summer Special, a couple of extra mags, 642 used for a BUG. I know that guns are supposed to be "Comforting, not comfortable", however this combination happens to be both, at least for me. |

Did a 4 mile nature hike with the wife and kids yesterday, wearing shorts & untucked polo shirt. Concealed the G19 with two spare +2 mags with no problems. Best part is, if one of the kids ended up in the river and I had to go in after him/her, I'd have had no qualms about what would happen to the Glock's finish...
Regards,

| Chuck is your Galco the Royal Guard or Summer Comfort? The Galco web page has two that look like the old Summer Special. Thanks. |

FC; Summer Comfort, very nice holster, and a quality rendition on the original.
Kevin, one night at work my duty G17 and my duty gear were underwater for 4-5 hours due to local flash flooding making some of the areas I had to wade through chest deep. I was glad to have a gun I knew would handle the abuse. |

Chuck Taylor has claimed to have left an old G17 in the Pacific ocean off Hawaii for six months. Little or no rust and it ran fine after being recovered, IIRC.

My duty sidearm is a Glock 31. It has been dunked quite a few times, and has spent a ton of hours in a Safariland Raptor duty holster with water pouring out of it while I check waterfowl hunters. Never a problem with function or finish. Round count is just past 5K now, dept. armorers just changed out my firing pin (striker) and recoil spring. All of our firearms (600+) were done, parts in my pistol still looked new. |

| All this G19 talk got to me. I found one a slightly used for $389. I thought it was a pretty good deal and have been wanting to try one for a while. Hope to get it out this weekend and wring it out. |

| I had a 19 and traded it for the 26. I carry it with a sleeved 19 mag and a reload of a 17 mag. The 26 carries IWB and OWB better for my fat body and is plenty accurate. The sleeved 19 mag gives me a full grip with 16 rounds and is no problem to conceal. |

Rock! welcome aboard! this will be never be the largest site but it will always be the most civil. Around here, "Expert" is an obscene word-we are all stuidents and the day I don't learn something new will be the day I shut this puppy down.
The Glock 19 is a superb fighting handgun and I've several but they all seem to end up the hands of family members.
We live in a world that will get increasing more challanging and without any hysteria I think our country is under attack from within thet makes the outside attacks seem like pin pricks.
I live in a town where three bikes stolen in one week is a crime wave, but I carry a Glock 17 and a Smith 642 daily with a Mosin Nagant M44 in the van. |

| Thanks for the welcome guys. I've been snooping here for a while and have picked up a lot of valuable information already. And it is nice to come to a forum without having to sift through all the nonsense so common on many forums. |

Welcome aboard! Whatever the question, someone will usually have the answer, an admitted best guess, or we're not afraid to say we when really don't know.

One tough 9mm straight out of the box. I my opinon the only thing that needs fixing are the sights. I have carried that weapon platform here, out of the country, and abroad, G19 mags with plus two floor plates or 33rd mag. My hands are large but not too large for the weapon and I was glad of that when I the first held the weapon back in 1998.
Everyone else is watching and trying to copy but the G19 is hard to beat. |
It's only a 9mm! Then let me shoot at you.
You must hit your intented target with every round you fire, thus neutralizing the threat and reducing your liability.
Praying and spraying the landscape does not solve your immediate problem and puts innocent people at risk. |

My G19 has replaced my G17s as my primary concealed carry off-duty gun.
Lately I'm feeling the urge for another G19. Anything I really like, I like to have two of. |

I think the G19 is Glock's best and hands down the best carry gun out there. Period. I use mine for carry everywhere, especially when I travel. A G19 (olive framed) with Glock NS and 3 mags is a great travel kit. Add a spare 50 round box and you should be good to go to get you out of Dodge. I'm embarrassed to let you know how many more I have squirreled away in the safe. |

| I carry a Glock 17 daily, but wouldn't leave the house without a backup gun too. |
