The mediocre grocery store blueberies I had with dinner reminded me of the top notch, home-grown blueberries that Pat provided at the Hoot & Shoot. Thanks Pat.

I hope your berries are getting the rain they need and everything goes well with harvesting and weed control.

Speaking of store bought blueberries I just got some from Borden's Processing out of Covert, Mi I couldn't help but wonder if they could of been Pat's.

Doc,

Got 10 skids of Bluecrop, Blue Rays, and early Jerseys, off the patch Mon. and Tuesday.

Sprayed today for Beetles, and don'tya know it finally RAINED!!!!!!

Prices are high cuz there is a slim chance of a third picking.

The stuff in the grocery stores right now are the early berries that lack in flavor like the Weymouth and Blue-Ray.

Hit the grocer next week, and the cultivars represented (And mixed!) will be more flavorfull, but likely more expensive.

Hate to admit it, but the storm that is torturing your brother, holds promise for things up here.

Keep at that Marlin.

I think you might be onto something.

If you can self criticise, and take notes as to what worked and didn't as far as manipulation from both sides, and share......

it would be appreciated.

Sooner or later somebody will be asking about left shoulder manipulation and the nuances involved ;)

Thanks for having the gumption to bring it to the line!

Was good having ya there, and wish I had more time to yak with you.
(And thanks for bringing the Missus!!)

Keep safe, and mind the hooves!

P.S.
Sulfer up a couple of acres cuz there is work underway on a low acidic med. bush in the works. 5.9-6.5.

It might work for you guys down there.

nsmike,

Jerry Borden is a neighbor, and has packed some fresh picked berries for us this year.

If not ours, our immediate neighbors.

Bordens is a very small and local outfit. Ya mighta had one or two in there picked by Mrs.E4E or myself. Especially if ya notice less than round and closer to a tire shaped berry or two, on account that we have several old cultivars within a couple of rows that are unique these days.

Keep hitting the same market, for the next couple of weeks.

You are 2 weeks out from the first local Jerseys hitting the market.

For flavor, this year is exceptional locally, but volume will be low.

Missed ya at the H&S........

Next year?

Just what the world needed, an anal retentive berry grower-I can see it now, Marion The Berry, wandering the rows on a moonlit night encouraging the berries with a Woody Hayes type speech.

Atleast it keeps him too busy to clean guns or to critisize my "prayer&spray" approach to gun cleaning.

Looking for consistency here. "This has no relevance to this site". Evan, May 13, 2005.

I am not looking to be argumentative or to be a pain, but so many threads are locked and or warned off when they seem to stray, I just want to see that all on the forum are treated fairly.

The subject was about berries brought to the H&S by E4E.

The forum is the Hoot&shoot forum.

This thread has not strayed.

relax and understand I don't ride herd on my moderators-we're having fun

and besides since I pay all the bills I'll determine relevance-this is not a democracy

And there are some days that some of us need a good laugh. Some of the threads (like this) that pop up are great for this.

Especially after nights when I feel like doing penetration testing from various shoulder weapons on some of the equipment I deal with at work. And most to all of it has either 5 or 6 figure price tags.

It also shows how close knit some members of this board are.

On another note.....

If you like full flavored and SWEET berrys.....

The Jersey crop that is coming, is going to be a benchmark!!!!

God, and Mother nature, have conspired in a manner that is unmatched this year.

Prices will be high, but I cannot remember midseason berrys with this amount of flavor ever.

It's gonna be a short crop.

But what is there as fresh, will be the best ever.

Adversity has a way of boiling things to the edges of the bell curve.

It's good to be here.
