I happen to believe the prophecies in the Book of Revelations in the Bible and in the Book of Mormon. We can see the beginnings of what is coming. We've spent 53 years-so far-establishing food and water storage and other items we consider essential to our families. That's me and mine and I realize your mileage may vary but I suggest you give it careful consideration! |

Even if you don't believe we may be living in the end times (I happen to agree with Evan), we are certainly living in a time of shortages (ammo, components, even some food and other necessities) and with those bring the urban predators who might want to take them if you do stock up.
It cannot hurt to stock up on long term necessities - my freezers are full (mostly of game meat), my ammo shed is topped up and I have some food put away that supposedly lasts for 25 years - which means someone else might enjoy it unless the time line is compressed (each year the liberals are in power means the time line compresses).
I'm always reminded of Jeff Cooper's comment in class: "I knew this would happen...and I know what to do about it."

The US and NATO are projecting weakness and indecision. Russia and China are behaving alarmingly like Germany and Japan in the leadup to WWII. What could go wrong?

I believe we are in the end times also. There is very little difference in our society today than it was in earlier biblical times when the Bible tells us, "During those times there was no king, and everyone was doing what the thought was right in their own sight." What democracy does to bring its downfall is, they start voting themselves large gifts and no one is left to pay the bill. That is where we are headed. Free societies fail. Turns my stomach to see what is happening.
The Bible tells me, my job today is to tell others about Jesus Christ, then put other things in God's hands. There-in lies great comfort in that for me. This world is not my home, and may I say "I am glad."
