It works! Boy does it work. Well at least it worked once, who knows about the next time?

Cuts down on the effort to field dress

Ruger Frontier 16" barrel, Winchester 200 gr. Silver-tip - handy.

I hunted with a guy who had a custom rifle in .358 Winchester when I was
in college. Didn't see how it worked as none of us got a deer that fall.
Always like the idea of the cartridge but have never owned one.

I always wanted a Savage 99 carbine in the caliber but the only ones I've run into are not for sale

I do have a "modernized" version - a Browning BLR takedown.

Nice gun but for me it does not have the character of the 99.

I usually end up taking my Ruger Frontier because it is both shorter and lighter.
