I don't how many of you have read Feinstein's proposed AWB but it is much more inclusive AND requires you to register your legal battle rifle in a process similar to purchasing a class three weapon.

Since I'm sure they are not going to provide funding for the local PD's to complete this process it will likely take yrs AND, of course, since you are not legal to own the rifle it will be taken by the cops. If you think it will properly stored, you are extremely stupid.

Like I told Randy years ago, never have a better rifle than the cops when when they show up. If you think your expensive battle rifle will not be pressed into service and abused, I have a mansion in Detroit I'll sell you.

She wants to empower the BATF to make warrantless searches looking for hi cap mags or rifles that have not gone thru the registration process. She claims it will not effect hunting rifles or shotguns. Unfortunately for her, she is on record that she wants to ban all guns.

She is trying to divide shooters and if she does, we're screwed. We need to unite all gun owners and then articulate the fact they are planning to remove guns from the possession of people who are law biding citizens. Non gun owners should understand that if they are able to take guns away from people who haven't committed a crime, they can come and seize of sorts of things like cars, boats, etc.

What to do?

1, Join the NRA. If you're already a member send them a check.

2. Contact your Senators and Congressmen and let them know where you stand about the illegality and immorality of punishing innocent citizens. Propose to them that laws should be passed that contain harsh sentences for those who use one of these weapons in a crime.

Republicans control the House but what I think of them would be a violation of Rule #1 and my wife would wash my mouth with Lava soap.

Make it clear that if they support this measure you will actively support an opponent who stands with the Constitutions.

3. Open your mouth and if you hear someone saying their is no legitimate need for an assault rifle ask them to prove their need for bass boats, snow mobiles, jet skis, and a summer home. Who needs two homes?

4. Pray for our cause simply because our cause is right.

5. We will not win thru logic and common sense, but thru being the only 1,000 lb gorilla in the fight.

As Foghorn Leghorn would say, "This is Wah."

"The greatest thing a Father can do for his children is to love their Mother."

And the list is large with things the almighty government can seize as not being necessary to the good life. Maybe hunting knives, pocket knives, and other such every day things can be dispensed with next. Hammers, cars, screw drivers, and other such deadly items may be preserved to the masses because of their practical value aside from their homicidal value. Hatchets could be dispensed with because, arguably, their benefits are outweighed by their danger and they are easily replaced by an axe. But, gosh, are axes really necessary any more? Chain saws will do the work of axes; but wait, they could be used for homicidal purposes. Gosh, this will take a congressional study to get to the bottom of these issues. Maybe Joe Biden will be appointed to lead a bi-partisan committee to study these issues. Ten million dollars could adequately fund the activities of this committee.

Amen, Evan!! I've already written two Congressmen and four Senators. Along with the NRA, I am also a life member of Gun Owners of America; they act like 1000 pound gorillas sometimes, but the legislators they support don't lose their nerve and say they don't know why anyone needs more than three shots (Senator Manchin/WV) when someone steals a gun and starts shooting children. Those who can't figure why one would need a firearm that will shoot repeatedly and can be quickly reloaded should be reminded that they don't patrol their own property/check cattle along the U.S./Mexico border. It's even harder these days since the U.S. Gov't sent 3000 "assault weapons" into Mexico for the cartels to use.

And by the way, how is gun control working out for the poor Mexicans who can't even get a .380 to defend their homes and families from murder and kidnapping? Their registration and gun ban laws are tougher than Feinstein's, yet there are thousands of "Class 3" weapons in the hands of the outlaws.

If it's about the school children, Israel has armed their teachers for 30 years now. I have personally seen teachers and parents with M-1 carbines slung over their shoulders walking with their students on the streets. For some reason the palestinians almost never attack schools and daycare centers anymore. Armed teachers are already successfully and safely protecting several schools in Texas. Utah is training scores of teachers, too.

Educate lawmakers on the history of this issue (Beslan has been forgotten but the Russians had plenty of gun control). Emotional "dribble" appeals to some but not to all. Like Evan said, let's boldly make the arguments that make sense.

Our lives, our fortunes, and our Sacred Honor

“If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without bloodshed;
if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may
come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves.”

Winston Churchill

Posted a link to join the NRA for $25 for 1 year and you get a $25 gift card for Bass Pro Shop. Or, better yet, join for two or three years, and you still get the gift card.

When I worked for the Texas Rangers I proposed that they clean up some of the stash houses seized down between Laredo and McAllen (to make them reasonably livable). Then, suggest to the governor that Texas law makers who say there is no cross-border violence (the same ones who want to crank down on gun control) all need to live down on the border with no security, no Capitol Police, etc, for minimum of three months every few years. I also suggested this for our US cabinet level types who shall remain unnamed herein.

I'd made the suggestion to the Ranger I worked for, somewhat tongue-in-cheek, but he's a former USMC Scout Sniper, so he got the point!

I guarantee their viewpoints will be altered.

Living in the Peoples Socialist State of Maryland, writing to our elected reps is like spitting into the wind, but I do it anyway. When you go to Sen Ben Cardins web site one of his quotes that is on the home page is this, "There is no legitimate reason for a civilian to own a military styl weapon" Kind of sets the stage for the reception my e-mails, etc will get. So far, every person I know has expressed much disgust and speaks with much ill and bad words towards the idea of a gun control ban. My favorite word is the word said during the Battle of the Bulge where the American reply to the Germans was "NUTS".
I think just about all the lawmakers have gone totally nuts. We see the last minute "Fiscal cliff" played like a card game and things will only get worse I'm afraid.

I am urging everyone to write a letter or send a e-mail to our elected representatives.

Be honest, fair, and always prepared...
