Have a new Glock 22 #NBGxxx born on 5/28 2009. It has the American made frame, and came with 3 of the new glock magazines with the 1 stamped next to the glock symbol. The slide has a groove milled into the top inside surface, I do not recall ever seeing this on a glock before. The slide has a part number of 6428720014. At the range the pistol ran great with winchester ranger 180gr bonded, and 180 gr speer lawman. I had a Streamlight TLR-1 mounted for half of the 300 rds fired. Fired weak hand, tried to limp wrist, there was no stopping this Glock. The TLR-1 C-4 is great it throws a really wide beam. The Winchester Ranger Bonded round has little flash and is really clean burning. The TLR-1 really lights up the smoke in the dark kind of like driving in fog with your bright lights on.

glad to hear-the biggest problem with weapon mounted lights is twofold-we end up pointing guns at people had no right to point them at and few users manage them correctly, turning them into bullet magnets.

Glad it works good. I agree with Evan, use the attached light wisely. I'd read, watch, and learn all you can about effective use of weapon mounted lights AND get a handheld by your gun if you don't already have one. I do have a M-6 laser/light combo on a bedside Glock. It is a last resort light, with a Streamlight ultra stinger and a Surefire G-2 I rigged a loop on for around my left ring finger. I admit I am sometimes scared of the dark, so I have a couple of bright flashlights handy.

I'm glad you are enjoying your 22 and that it is problem free. I've never tried a light on my 2003 G22. Andy |

Glad your gun isn't having issues. Good on you for trying it with the light mounted. You have no idea how many coppers I have met who have never fired their G22 with the light mounted on it, only to find that their gun doesn't work when the light is attached.

saw one-it's butt ugly-I own Glock 17&G30SF-would not own a Glock .40. Have a Beretta PX4 .40 Storm that just runs and runs.

Evan I'm curious....why don't you like Glock 40's .I posted this in cop's corner...it's really making me think about the reliabilty of the new Glock 40's
Posted - August 06 2009 : 10:28:12 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Metro-Nashville has been replacing our Glock 22's that were issued in 1997(before we supllied our own semi-autos). I received my new one in January 2009. I took it to the range upon receipt to test it. The trigger would bind partially or completely bind in one out of five shots. I took the weapon to the department's gunsmith. He discovered an extra piece of plastic mold that was attached to the trigger safety causing it to bind. He also replaced the slide stop since the slide failed to lock back on several magazines. The new 22s don't like the older generation magazines. And the new magazines don't always lock in the older sidearms. I was telling a friend of mine about the magazine problems with the different magazines and he adminstratively put one of my magazines in his older weapon. It wouldn't lock in. I actually carry my own Glock 23 on duty and have never had an mallfunction with it. Several of my friends have had failure to feeds and stovepipes on their newly issued Glock 22's while testing and qualifying with them. One of them was a very experienced shooter. The firearm staff is recommending "heavier lubrication "on the newer Glock weapons to advoid problems witrh them.. I own 5 of my own Glock pistols and have never had concerns about any of them.It does make me wonder about the brand new Glock 22'S after reading about other departments encountering similar problems.
