Some words of wisdom I follow

"No matter how big and bad you thank you are. There is always someone out there who is bigger and badder than you are." My Old Man

"Don't get mad, get a bigger hammer" Tom Vanek

"Small things, small things can get you killed." Lt. Jordon (Ret) Gary Police Department

"You may be bigger than me, but you will start fighting fair, I won't" Unknown This works for my 5-07 175 pound body.

"Get a good back up gun, get a good shotgun, and get a good knife. That is what you will need here to survive." Cpl Brazelton Gary Police Department (First Phase FTO)

"Take your time but hurry up." Nicolas Deem A line I coined in my Fire Service years. It has served me well.

And, the greatest "leveling" statement ever (IMHO) that I diligently repeated to my children:

"There's never a horse that can't be rode,
There's never a man that can't be throwed."

Amen.

"...namely, that too many people do not make up their own minds, but have their minds made up for them by salesmen, advertisers, parents, propagandists, TV, newspapers, and so on. They are pawns to be moved by others rather than self-moving self-determining indivivduals. Therefore they are apt to feel helpless, weak, and totally determined; they are prey for predators, flabby whiners rather than self-determining, responsible persons. What this non-responsibility means for self-choice politics and economics is of course obvious; it is catastrophic. Democratic self-choice society must have self-movers, self-deciders, self-choosers who make up their own minds, free agents, free-willers." Abraham Maslow (!!!)

The current moral decay and state of the world makes this quote even more relevant now.

I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that His justice cannot sleep forever.
Thomas Jefferson

In preparing for battle I have always found that plans are useless, but planning is indispensable.

"Each of us has a natural right, from God, to defend his person, his liberty and his property".

"Life, liberty and property do not exist because men have made laws. On the contrary, it was the fact that life, liberty and property existed beforehand that caused men to make laws in the firstplace."

Frederic Bastiat
