today Jim Hiller and I acquired a gun shop and indoor range in Midland, MI. Jim decided we should name it what we named it, not me. We will formally acquire it Feb 1st and will spend the next month stocking it and doing some remodeling of the interior. It is an almost new facility with a modern range with 14 total shooting positions-four on one side and 10 on the other. The range is capable of stopping .50BMG. The air purification system and circulation efficiency would equal that of a hospital operating room.

The 2006 Hoot&Shoot will be hosted here. We will not be at the mercy of the weather and there are a classroom, lunch room, and conference room that can all be used. Moving forward of the fixed shooting positions will allow us to handle many more safely for the H&S classes.

The same approach that has created success here will be employed there-civility, honesty, integrity, and service. We will also have guns for rental and we'll eventually acquire a Class Three license and have full auto weapons for rental and training. New shooters will be welcome and provided with assistance.

As an NRA certified instructor I will offer ccw training, and as a former contract instructor for: The Federal Air Marshal's,The US Army Special Reactions Teams, and the National Nuclear Security Administration among others, I'll provide a number of specialized training programs. And as the original Training Sergeant for the Special Response Team of the Detroit Police Department, I have a clear understanding of tactical and raid team training.

We will also bring in instructors we consider street relevant. There will be no "experts" in our store only individuals dedicated to providing unequaled service and products. The atmosphere that prevails in all too many gun shops will not exist in our place.

Sounds like Midland just became a vacation spot!

Evan and I hope to provide a first class facility for learning and sharpening the skills of all shooters. We also plan to to carry a full range of guns and associated gear in addition to clothing.
We are both excited by this chance to provide a world class venue which will maintain the highest standards.

Already looking at the map to find the quickest roadway from here to there. Looks like about 5+ hours, 320 miles using 69 and 75.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

The first and only place, that there is no egotistical meadow muffins to step into, and honest to goodness folks behind the counter and doing the instruction!!!!!!!!

I ain't got a problem with the name.
The name is what it is, and is a testiment to the only Student I know that continues to learn obcessively, while instructing all the while.

May it be a students paradise by design!
I trust the place will be a "Home" for many, and in many ways.

MAZEL TOV!!!!! and God Bless!!!!!

Godspeed!
Pat

Awriiiigghhtt!!!!

I have a feeling this will be more than your average gunshop / shooting range.

Lots of possibilities here!

Good luck. You deserve it!
