This past March, after a mass shooting at several New Zealand mosques in which semi-automatic “assault-style” rifles were used to kill 50 people, the leftist female Prime Minister announced a ban on all semi-auto rifles, along with high capacity magazines; which effective in April became illegal to own or possess. Everyone owning one was ordered to turn it in.

But according to a story in the May 28 New Zealand Herald, of the estimated 300,000 semi-autos owned by approximately 250,000 New Zealanders, to date a total of only 530 guns have been turned in....

Go New Zealanders!

Where do I look?

You’d be hard-put to find someone more ignorant than me regarding browsers, etc.

Everything I’m posting continues to look perfectly notmal on my iPhone.

One if the things I like about the little town I’m living in, is it’s extreme lack of ethnic and racial “diversity”.... I haven’t seen a woman in a burkha yet! Whereas back in northern VA, I’d see them every time I went out.

Well you are sending Konji instead of spaces so you might need to look at that. I just thought you were seeing if we could read Chinese, Korean, or Japanese? Practicing for all those ethic groups you have in Colorado right.

Chris, it all looks perfectly normal to me.

Oh great! They’ve finished messing with the election... now they’re coming after me...

I started using Slimjet as my browser for this site and I see the anomalies in LB's posts.

When I view the site in Slimbrowser, LB's posts show as normal, well as normal as LB can be.

I get odd characters in the Slimjet, such as a black diamond with a question mark in it.

It also may be something with LB's PC is causing it to look screwy on our PCs.

Rick

Indeed! Which ain’t very normal, even under the best of circumstances....

I’m posting from my iPhone 6, the same phone I’ve been using to post here for the last 3 or 4 years... is it possible that one of the periodic updates on my phone altered my browser?

Chris, now you’ve got me totally confused... up from my normal resting state of fair-to-middling....

That wasn’t by any chance a 6-pack of 40s, was it...?

Chris Christian Posted - June 16 2019 : 4:47:58 PM
LB,,, just a note... all that keyboard "stuff" is now back. I'll keep my 6 pack... you fix that keyboard "Cr-p. It's very annoying, and detracts greatly from the astute messages you likely wish to share with your fellow Forum members

WOW... that was a fast 'clean up'. As we used to say during my Navy days... 'Reading you 5 by 5. Bravo Zulu on your communication net clean up!"

I was thinking about contributing to your newly-established "Go Fund Me A New Keyboard" page....but, since you seemed to have corrected the problem at the "user 1 level"... I think I'll just take that money and go buy me a 6-pack

LB... Computer keyboards don't last forever. Like any mechanical device they can break and "go whacky". But they do sell them at many retail outlets. Do you need a new one? There seems to be a whole bunch of funny symbols in your written copy that otherwise interferes with your normally erudite thoughts

And as to what they’re teaching our youth: there you have it: the “principles” of “social justice”, “anti-racism”, etc.

Think about it: the whole thing started when a bakery employee confronted a Black Oberlin student who’d just shoplifted a bottle of wine and left the store... facts which no one disputed... but somehow— because the thief was Black— that made the act of apprehending him, into an act of... gasp!... ”racism!”...

What was the bakery employee supposed to do? Say to himself: “Well, if the thief was White, I’d be OK to stop him... but since he’s a ‘minority’, I guess I have no choice but to let him go... and just be grateful that he only stole one bottle...”

That’s what they’re “teaching” the young people at Oberlin; and unfortunately, lots of other “institutions of higher learning” as well....

LittleBill Posted - June 16 2019 : 2:32:58 PM
All true!

Perhaps the funniest thing about that Oberlin debacle, is that their Black female attorney— who spearheaded the (totally unnecessary) campaign against the bakery, that ended up costing the college multiple millions of dollars— is someone whose advertized specialty is “risk assessment”....

Ooops! So much for affirmative action hires....

No need to cancel elections, if you can stupify the people into voting you into office.

Grab 'em while they're young and their yours for life. Look at our public schools system. Take another look at Oberlin College. They just got hammered in a civil suit... $33 Mil. The SJW in the administration
decided to teach SJW 104. The jury said they flunked.

These were college administrators fanning the " SJW racism" flames of a shoplifting incident in which the perpetrators said there was no racism.

But, these college bureaucrats couldn't help themselves. You have to wonder where they came from in the public education system... how they achieved their current status... and what that entire system is currently teaching our youth.

Grab 'em while they're young and their yours for life.

This is surely not a new discussion!

I remember when I was 12, and the men at the coffee shop were worried that
Nixon would declare himself dictator.

One man scoffed and said it wouldn’t happen because we still had our guns.

I didn’t know what to think about it back then, and I didn’t realize that he had trekked across Germany 30 years before and knew what he was talking about.

It IS a different time though.

I’m convinced that in 2016, that if The Great Leader, Barack Hussein Obama, had cancelled the election, and declared himself dictator, that about 40% of the chowderheads in America would have nodded and went along with it.

It’s also rumored that the ‘higher-ups’ in military and gov’t are building remote getaways with bombproof shelters... could they know something we don’t?

For a long time, I was stockpiling guns and ammo... had amassed a fairly sizeable stash....

But recently it all got lost in a tragic canoeing accident, when the canoes carrying my entire collection capsized in deep water....

And honestly? I feel safer without them....

really rich people already have their money were the government can't get it.

that's the fatal flaw in Bernies tax the rich scheme

years ago Bush tried to force Switzerland to give up it's banking information in the name of counter terrorsim

Pelosi suddenly felt the urge to visit the Pope

Story is that she jumped over the Alps and moved her Swiss accounts, brought back something like bearer bonds in a diplomatic pouch.

same way some groups already have stocked piled weapons and ammo

geeze, no one trusts the Government anymore.....

At some point, will the rich decide to leave the US, rather than be forced to finance an ever-expanding welfare entitlement state....?

And that's why socialism has to transition into communism, escape must be stopped to slow down the collapse.

I understand it has already been discussed to allow physical escape (to prevent anyone from being able to technically claim we have become "communist") but the wealth must be left behind to do it.

Right.

And if I were one of those rich guys, I’d already have my team of lawyers and accountants working on figuring out how to get most of my wealth out, before the exit door slams shut...

That seems to be the plan: tax the rich to pay for all the ‘free’ perks the Dems are promising people: ‘free’ healthcare, ‘free’ college tuition, ‘free’ universal income...

From what I understand, businesses are leaving California in droves, due to the high taxes...

At some point, will the rich decide to leave the US, rather than be forced to finance an ever-expanding welfare entitlement state....?

gw Posted - June 15 2019 : 10:43:53 AM
they'd just tax the billionaires to pay for it

to a politician, the important thing is to pass a law, enforcement is not their problem

after the 94 ban, Feinstein went on 60 minutes claiming she had banned "assault weapons" and they could no longer be obtained in this country

Lesley Stahl reached around her chair and pulled out an AK with a sack of magazines her staff had purchased that afternoon

Feinstein seemed amazed, the word clueless applies

there were more weapons of that type sold during the Clinton ban then before

there were also more shooting deaths from rifles the year before the Clinton ban expired, than there were the year Bush let the ban sunset

to this day Feinstein claims the 94 ban worked....

ammo manufacturers call the Obama Presidency " the golden years"

And if Feinstein was clueless about what her ban accomplished, she’s probably equally clueless regarding the hornet’s nest she’d stir up, if the US Congress passed a confiscation/buyback similar to what NZ has done... maybe what’s happening there will give US gun-grabbers pause for thought....

I don’t think they could get away with confiscating guns without compensation; and figuring out what fair compensation would be, for millions of accessorized guns, would be a nightmare, that would take years, and cost US taxpayers billions of dollars. It’s hard to see how it would even be possible...
