Posted - June 04 2019 : 7:43:08 PM There is something about leaving brass cases on the ground that goes against me. I remember years back scrounging brass anyway I could, now shooting on outdoor ranges the brass just lays. Near brings tears to my eyes. Russ
Posted - June 04 2019 : 5:43:27 PM I've used steel case in glocks for years
as for ranges, make it easier to police with a magnet on a stick....
Posted - June 04 2019 : 3:13:06 PM I've never used them. The three local ranges near to or in the city by me all prohibit steel-cased ammo. This is their way to prevent the use of steel core bullets on their back stops. Two of the three also prohibit cast bullets because of lead/environment concerns. The third allows cast bullets in .45 Long Colt only. Tried arguing that .44 Spec was a lighter slower bullet which would be less of a lead concern than .45 LC, but... . Steel cases will get you ejected from the range. Their range, their rules. Hopefully this will change as they become more prevalent and made by named manufacturers. Right now I think that they associate them with military surplus.
