10 May 1920 is the birthday of John Dean "Jeff" Cooper. I still miss him.

One of the first articles I remember in a gun magazine was written by the Colonel. I figured out right away that he was someone I should pay attention too.

As a teenager I learned much about the art of the handgun from reading Col. Cooper's writings. It was a powerful influence and served me well during my 10 year Navy hitch.
When it came to the rapid and effective employment of the handgun, he was truly ahead of his time.

1+ on good people, not that I knew the Col. but his writings pointed me to look for others who knew what they were talking about.
